Bethesda Based Bankruptcy attorney seeks an experienced paralegal to manage day-to-day clerical and client related activities. This person will be an important part of the firms staff and be the point person for firm activates.

This paralegal will need to possess strong Microsoft Word and/or Word Perfect formatting skills. Possessing a knowledge of bankruptcy law programs such as Top Forms or Best Cases, as well as some skill drafting legal pleadings is strongly desired. A professional demeanor is imperative as this job will entail meeting and interacting with clients and attorneys.

We have an entry level legal assistant opportunity in the Litigation Support area. Successful candidate should have at least a 3.0 GPA and a well rounded academic background. Strong written and oral communication skills are very important as well as a demonstrated strong work ethic and ability to thrive in a fast paced environment. Proficiency using MS Word and Excel is required. A two (2) year commitment is required; this is a great opportunity for people interested in law school in the future.

We have a position available in both our Washington, DC and Reston, VA offices. Travel may be required to provide support for trials. Our regular business hours are 9:00 am - 5:30 pm, Monday - Friday. Overtime is fairly consistent.

This position will be responsibile for analyzing and reporting Trademark search results within the context of client requirements; reporting of Office Actions and other duties as assigned. Ideal candidate will have five years of strong Trademark experience; a bachelor's degree and/or paralegal certificate; ability to navigate various serch engines and investigative tools (Dun & Bradstreet, Thomson & Thomson, LexisNexis), familiarity with CTCoresearch and Saegis databases, familiarity with domain name, registration and UDRP research; USPTO Trademark web-based databases and filing systems (TESS, TEAS, TARR, TDR, TTAB); knowledge of Federal Rules of Civil Procedures and Trademark Rules of Practice, Microsoft Office Suite; excellent organizational skills, interpersonal skills and attention to detail; ability to work independently and the ability to multi-task.

Candiate with 3-5 years previous Trademark prosecution experience
Primary Responsibilites:
• Monitor the trademark docket for the Washington office, pull all files for upcoming due dates reflected on docket and determine status
• Communicate with docketing department regarding changes to dates docketed, closing matters
• Prepare and mail correspondence to clients regarding upcoming due dates for trademark prosecution, including timely reminders if no instructions received
• Prepare and mail correspondence to clients forwarding USPTO correspondence related to trademark prosecution

Sr. Paralegal position. This is a contract position with an indefinite term that is located on site at the Department of Justice. Directs and supervises the work of paralegal and other support staff, particularly on major paralegal support efforts, such as large legal research projects or major in-courtroom support. Monitors work and reports on progress; responsible for ensuring that work meets contract and attorney requirements and is delivered on time. Troubleshoots and performs quality control spot-checks. Must be able to formulate administrative and technical procedures for getting the work done. Reports to Supervisory Paralegal; will have significant contact with COTR, Government Case Manager, trial attorneys, senior managing attorneys, and staff, client agency staff and opposing counsel. Performs complex legal and factual research. Designs and develops systems and procedures for tracking and controlling, and managing case files, exhibits, and other case-specific materials using Concordance, CaseMap, Sanction, Excel, Westlaw, Lexis, Word, and other litigation support databases and software. Assists trial staff in coordination with expert witnesses and litigation consultants. Arranges for access to appropriate DOJ libraries and other legal research facilities. Coordinates with other Contractor support components, including data processing support staff, in order to accomplish work.
Proven excellent written and oral communication skills. Experienced with Concordance, CaseMap, TimeMap, Sanction, IPro, IConect, Westlaw, Lexis, Word, Excel, and other litigation support software and databases.
*Must be willing to travel.
*Paralegal certificate.
*Must have trial experience.
*Must be able to deliver high quality work under extreme pressure.
*Must have a secret clearance
